Dr. Bredel's lab focuses on both basic and translational research. "On the basic side, we are looking at the mechanisms of brain tumorigenesis. Our translational work uses a unique approach—we are the first lab in the United States to use novel protein methodology that allows us to look at the abundance of single protein molecules and their impact on brain tumor cells. The Northwestern Brain Tumor Research Program is considered to be a leader in the application of advanced genome-wide analysis tools. Our hope is that both our basic and translational research efforts will help us to improve outlook for patients."
