Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute

Dr. Stegh, who recently moved from the Dana Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard to the Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute, pursues research aimed at finding better treatments for brain tumors. "Specifically, the objective of my lab is the identification and characterization of novel oncogenes and tumor suppressors, important in understanding the pathogenesis of glioblastoma. We have already identified two potent oncoproteins and, having completed some in vitro studies, are now developing a murine cancer mouse model to explore tumor development and test anti-glioma therapies. Our goal is to identify novel drug targets that will help us improve the survival of patients with brain tumors."
