Robert Kern, MD, is an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital,
George A. Sisson Professor of Otolaryngology, Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and is affiliated with the Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute.
Dr. Kern’s clinical interests involve the medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses and the minimally invasive endonasal approach to skull base tumors.
Dr. Kern conducts research on the pathophysiology of chronic rhinosinusitis with Robert Schleimer Ph.D., the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Chief of the Division of Allergy and Immunology, and serves as co-investigator on several of Dr. Schleimer's National Institutes of Health grants. Dr. Kern has also been published several times in peer-reviewed journals.
